HAIR:The L.O.C Moisturizing Method
The natural hair care regimen you should know!
I can't stress enough how important hydration is for healthy, long and radiant hair. When I started my natural hair journey, I dealt with extreme dryness and dullness.
I just struggled to keep them hydrated, my curls absorbed so much water and yet were always in need of more moisture.
Keeping them soft and hydrated was a real challenge, especially during the dry season when dry air and wind would give them a hard time.
Once I incorporated the L.O.C method to my hair care regimen, I noticed great change it allowed my hair to stay moisturized until the next wash day.
What sets this method apart, is the layering of products in a specific order to maximize moisture retention.
The LOC method
The method is so easy to incorporate into your hair regimen, because it involves using products you probably already own and simply changing the order in which you apply them to your hair.
How Does It Work?
The method consists of 3 easy steps and the use of 3 simple products: Liquid, Oil and, Cream.
Step 1: Liquid
Liquid opens up the hair cuticles to allow the moisture to enter your hair strands in order to provide the moisture that will be sealed in.
I recommend applying water or water based products.
I either use water in a spray bottle or the SheaMoisture: Coconut & Hibiscus, Hold & Shine Moisture Mist.
Step 2: Oil
Apply a thin layer of oil to your hair to seal in the moisture, the consistency of the oil will allow a longer hydration.
Step 3: Cream
The final step is to apply a creamy moisturizer to your hair to seal that moisture in, it can also provide your curls with definition and hold.
I love the African Pride: Olive Miracle anti-breakage formula (FYI this cream is from a previous product range, African Pride has since launched a brand new hair care line dedicated to natural and afro hair) and the Shea Moisture: Jamaican Black Castor Oil strengthen & Grow Leave-In Conditioner.
After these 3 steps style your hair as usual!
