4 Ways To Style A Tracksuit
Style in the times of the pandemic can be quite daunting, when you are confined indoors 24/7 you tend to reach for comfy loungewear. Loungewear has been trending for some time now, somehow Covid 19 outburst, month of social distancing and working from home has revived it.
Adjusting to the new normal has been a hard process since all our activities are operated from home. As a result of being constantly indoors, I have been more creative in the way I style my loungewear.
The tight denim, fitted blazer, tailored shirts, formal dresses and high heels are now buried in the back of my closet. I actually find myself reaching for looser fitting and comfy clothing, specially my tracksuit sets. One tracksuit set can take you a long way! Not only is this garments easy to wash and wear daily, it is also convenient for various activities.
At one point I was sick of the sight of tracksuits, so I challenged myself played around with the boring tracksuit to switched it up by mixing, matching it with tailored pieces and formal colors, to my surprise it came out looking cute and polished. Now It has truly become my lockdown uniform…
I have been restyling reusing and repurposing the classic grey tracksuit, with good will and a whole lot of imagination and creativity, you can achieve sleek and elevated looks. It can be worn with absolutely anything when you are at home and it takes light styling for you to step out to run errands or for an evening walk.
To elevate it you simply need to add a structured blazer or coat, play with the colors, patterns and textures.
#1 Full Tracksuit look: This is more of a lounge look, full tracksuit set and socks to tucked in the hems of the jogger. Here I am wearing a light grey classic tracksuit just to lounge around the house, doing a light workout or meditating maybe accomplish a few house chores, catch up on some reading and work research.
#2 Just the trousers: Instead of the full suit just do the trousers and tuck in a muscle tee or a loose fitting white shirt. It’s a great alternative to T-shirt or tailored shirt and jeans.
#3 Full Tracksuit Black blazer look: To make a statement you can switch it up with full tracksuit and a black blazer for more structure and polish black chunky sneaker and a leather backpack. You can step out in this outfit to run errands or for an afternoon stroll in the park.
#4 Navy Mens Blazer and a white tailored shirt: A well-tailored blazer will instantly make any tracksuit look smart. The sharper the lines of a tailored blazer will streamline the look, pulling the whole look together. It’s a particularly great option during transitional seasons. This professional look on top, relaxed on the bottom is a great option for zoom meeting or professional video calls, the best part no one will know!
