Wherever you go, whatever you do, whatever is happening around you,
always take your own sunshine with you. Do not let the weather control your mood!
If you are living on my side of the world, Africa, East Africa, Ethiopia,
Addis Ababa to be more precise,
the rainy season is finally coming to an end!
It is quite amazing, I consider this weather to be freaking bipolar: sunny summer in the morning,
foggy fall weather in the afternoon, followed by tropical rain in the evening and cold winter at night.
The nights in Addis Ababa are so cold you have plug in a heater, just so you won’t freeze.
Nothing perks up a gloomy, rainy day more than a fun and colorful outfit!
Dressing colorfully instantly affects my
mood and raises my spirits.
Younger I was always drawn towards neutrals or dark colors,
I guess I was trying to stay on the safe side.
With maturity and confidence, I became bolder and more daring when it comes to colors.
I love to mix it, match it, block it and make it pop!
Nowadays when I come across an extremely colorful piece of clothing or accessory,
I challenge myself to style it and make it work.
Wearing mustard yellow is not as hard to wear as it might seem.
In addition, it is much more flattering for any complexion than you might think,
this color offers endless possibilities.
With this look I wanted to go for bright orange accessories to cheer up my day.
Since I cannot see the sun I wore colors that reminded me of it.
Light Mustard Yellow Sweater: I was not clear on how to combine it but I loved the result.
It has a funky 70’s vibe to it that goes well with my vintage mini skirt and mules.
Vintage Demin Mini Skirt: Is a versatile item to incorporate into your wardrobe,
it instantly injects freshness into your ensemble.
Orange Suede and PVC Mules: I am very into this update on the PVC trend.
Hand made by Senegalese traditional shoemaker,
I was quite surprised to see the quality and innovation in his craftsmanship.
I have got a few other that I would love to showcase for you guys… so say tuned!
Zesty Orange Hand Woven Palm Leaf Earrings: Souvenir from a trip I went on in Uganda,
to visit the source of the Nile river.
